I found some random Iphone & gopro clips of Austin Funk, all filmed during the Skummer of 2012 & before he became Thai & ate Durian. Since he was recently inducted into the realm of the #TWERKINTWENTIES I thought it fitting to have him be the subject of the latest Waste Management/Rat Droppings segemnt here on the Memoirs. We, as skateboarders, know all too well the simple fact that a lot of things just don't come easy, this is especially true when you're out trying a trick in the streets & trying to capture it on film at the same time. Some days all the planets align and ya got it, tricks that are like a flick of the switch, but then there are those days when you are stuck in a pickle, battling a trick for hours and sometimes to no avail. With this WMRD series I wanted to showcase what the Rats go through on a daily basis, like a soldier heading to the frontlines, weapon at the ready with the skateboard being the weapon & your battlefield, the grimey, piss-stained streets of the city. In the Rat droppings section you'll see young Austin's struggle. You'll see the roll-ups, the trials, the recon, the second opinions, the "You got it dude," the "1st try or Dies," & ya can't forget the "close but no cigars" & "better luck next time fuckers!" It's all here for your viewing pleasure, enjoy & keep having FUN! Cuz if you're not having fun, then what's the fucking point?!
