Yesterday, on May 27th, our very own hot rod stunt man, Mike Minard aka "Nards" aka "All Hail Nardiel" turned a quarter of a century old. So to celebrate the life and times of Nardiel, it was only fitting to feature Nards in the second installment of "Waste Management/ Rat Droppings. Without further adieu, here's Nards deep in the struggle & battle that we, as skateboarders, all have to endure just to get a trick on film. were filmed on my digital camera. So I thought I'd start a new segment
called "Waste Management: Rat Droppings." The videos will be like this
one, raw, uncut, with no music but the sounds of the shred. Enjoy and

eS released the new white colorways of kicks on May 16th which happened to be Forty Oz Friday, so I decided to call Drew the night before to make a roadtrip out of it. I mentioned Corning thinking it was in the East Bay. I tell Drew the deal, "Let's go to San Mateo and pick up them newnew Accelites then head to Corning, much to my dismay, Corning was in the complete opposite direction so I would have to call Atlas and tell them to hold the shoes for me until the following day cuz I was definitely not making it out there that Friday. It was hot as fuck this day so once we got to the park it was shirts off and time to make some shorts outta of our pants. The heat was unbearable, so mush so, that we asked all the locals if there were any large bodies of water anywhere and they all said no! Nearest places were in Chico or Sac and we weren't about to sit in a car for longer just to not find any rivers or lakes so we shredded Corning, got some clips and then headed to Uk-town to hit up a Skumset sesh on the wedge at Ukiah park. The Next day the eS shoe mish was in full effect. Got up at 7 called Moe and Drew at 8, was on the road by 9:45am en route to Atlas Skateshop in San Mateo. Got there, no problem and copped the only size 9 Accelites and couldn't have been any more excited. Felt like a little kid when I saw that fricken beautiful red box!!! I barely had enough cuz I paid a bunch of bills off the day before, actually I was even short on some change and wasn't about to pull out of my savings, so dude was nice enough to let me slide, thanks my dude (and part of the reason why was that he was stoked on us driving up from Rosa) come shred Rosa parks man! Once the shoes were acquired, Drew called Casey "Hawaii" Meyer and told him we were Santa Cruz bound for his video premiere for Assault Skateboards. As soon as we got to Santa Cruz, it was BABEWATCH all along the beaches, I'm lucky I didn't get into any fenderbenders while rubbernecking, foreal! The honeys were out looking fly as fuck in their sporty leggings, skimpy bikinis and sundresses...THANK JAH FOR SUNDRESS SEASON! Aight, back to the story, where was I? OH BOOBS!!! Once we got into town we headed straight for UC Santa Cruz to go study at the library. Just kidding, we drove past the University to shred the legendary snake run known as "DERBS!" This place is super fun but we only shredded for a few cuz the spot was blown out with the locals brah, so we headed to the downtown park to shred before meeting up at Skate Works for Hawaii's Premiere. Clocked some clips at the downtown park and was en route to the premier at 6:50pm. We get to Skate Works and it was going off, with shitty little ramps and pole jams everywhere. Zarosh was getting hesh on a mini quarter pipe, an Austin Funk Doppleganger was bs smithing a tall table that should belong in someone's foyer but it was out in the streets getting ripped apart by AFUNK 2.0! Hotdogs were grilling, free beer was spilling, and Drew and I were sneaking off to give thanks and praise. The Assualt video was awesome, HESH AS FUCK! Haven't seen or heard anything of Chris Livingston since I saw him skate a halfpipe on the water at DisneyLand CA Adventures w/ Bob Burnquist; that was 10 years ago! Chris had an ill part with lots of backyard pool shreddage and cutoff dickies. Casey's part was short and sweet with nothing but bangers...pretty much every trick could have been an ender. Right after Casey's part was none other than the Donger himself, motherfucking Kien Lieu! Part was off the chain! Once the video was done we said our "farewells and see ya laters," hugged Casey and hi-5'ed that ass for a killer 20 second part full of enders and with that we we're ROSETOWNBOUND once again. I even managed to snag a copy of the Assualt Video so we'll have to premiere it at Theatre #17 soon. Enjoy the photos and Video below. For those of you who frequent the TXXS blog often know that my Uglies and I like to get the heck out of town on our days off and generally as much as possible #VLFL. On this certain day St Helena park was on my mind once Nards had planted the seed in my head. To be honest I hadn't even thought of skating cuz of the holiday...it was Good Friday and two thoughts had crossed my mind. 1. The park would be empty cuz everyone's doing Good Friday things, bbq-ing and whatnot. 2. The park would be overrun with children of the Scoot cuz everyone had the day off. Luckily for us none of those scenarios were true. The park was mellow; us Rosa and Angwin/St Helena homies were the only ones there with no scooter kids in sight! The crew of Oulkies included myself, Toan, TC, Nards, Shreduardo, Moe, Foop Nasty and McGilly smashed down in Vic's new Prius to meet up. I had been itching to get a shred in @ St Helena cuz I had just flown back home that week from Oahu and hadn't had the time to get #HOTROD. Once we got there the homie Walker Ryan was already there giving out some gear to the little rippers around the park. We caught up, reminisced on old times,rejoiced about having such an ill park to skate now and talked bout how much time had pass since our last sesh. That Friday was so fun that we just had to smash back out the next day for the homie, David Cole's 25th Barfday. All in all it was a shredical 2 days in the heart of the Napa Valley with a shitload of #ONEHUNDREDPERCENTHOTRODSTUNTS going down left and right.
